Frequently asked questions
When reporting a problem, include the app version, game, profile type, what you clicked and any exact message shown. Never post your full profile or personal folder path publicly.
Why must ETS2 or ATS be closed?
External profile changes are not reliably refreshed by the game while it remains open. Close it before editing and reopen it after applying changes.
Does Mod Manager create or delete profiles?
No. Create profiles inside ETS2 or ATS first. The application discovers and manages existing profiles.
Does FILE delete a local mod?
No. FILE only opens Windows Explorer and reveals the exact archive or unpacked folder. Any file decision remains entirely yours.
What does Possible Local / Steam Match mean?
It is a cautious advisory based on matching manifest title and overlapping author information. It does not prove that the packages are identical and does not compare which one is newer.
Does Copy Load Order copy mod files?
No. It changes only the destination profile's active order. Packages are not copied, moved or modified.
What happens to a missing active Workshop mod?
The reference is preserved for recovery, with its numeric Workshop ID retained when available. It is not silently removed from the profile.
How many automatic backups are retained?
The 10 newest app-managed backups for each profile are retained. Unrelated or manually created backups are left untouched.
Why might Windows warn about the download?
The current release is not digitally signed because the project does not yet have a public code-signing certificate. Download only from the official GMC Community Discord.
