Should I choose V2.1.6 or V3.0 Alpha?
V2.1.6 remains our main Windows download for everyday use. V3.0.0 Alpha 8 is the new Avalonia build for Windows and Linux, offered separately for testing. Expect bugs, keep backups and tell us which build and operating system you use when asking for help. Read about the alpha.
Why is Recycle still unavailable?
Hover over Recycle for the reason. V2.1.6 fixes some overly strict folder-access checks for ordinary local mods, but the normal eligibility checks still apply. Workshop and linked items are excluded. Send the exact warning to GMC Discord support; share any local paths privately. Do not change folder permissions or run as administrator just to bypass a warning.
Can I scroll without losing my selected mods?
Yes. In V2.1.6, clicking or dragging either mod list’s scrollbar keeps the selection. Clicking actual empty space inside the list still clears it.
What do I do with the disabled-mod recovery message?
Choose Keep Saved State if you are unsure. The record stays available, and Reload reopens recovery. Recover Disabled Mods adds retained entries at the bottom, still disabled, for you to review and move before Apply. It does not restore missing mod files or guess the old positions. Information already discarded by an older build cannot be recovered automatically. See the recovery steps.
Why do some selected mods look rose instead of green?
The suite uses a lighter rose highlight for selected disabled or missing-file rows. It makes your selection easier to see without hiding that status. Regular selected rows stay green. Selecting a row does not enable it or fix a missing file.
Can I repair my truck in Saved Game Stats?
No. The Truck condition panel is read-only and reports the truck recorded in the selected save. It is not live telemetry and does not calculate an overall damage or restoration estimate. Missing readings are marked Unavailable.
Can I edit money, XP and skills?
Yes. Open a supported Local profile and choose Saved Game Stats. Close both games, select the exact save, read it and review your changes before confirming. Steam Cloud saves cannot be edited. Start with a spare save and load the same slot in-game afterwards.
Do I need three separate apps?
No. V2.1.6 brings Mod Manager, Game Version Switcher and Profile Cloner into one Windows application. Use the top tabs to move between them.
Why can’t I change tools?
Apply or undo unsaved Mod Manager changes before opening the Switcher or Cloner. If a tool is copying, checking files or tracking a game session, wait for it to finish. Use Stop or Cancel only where the tool offers it.
Will switching tabs lose my place?
No. Each workspace stays open. Switching tabs does not apply or discard your load-order edits.
Can Profile Cloner copy Steam Cloud profiles?
No. Profile Cloner supports readable local profiles only. Mod Manager can open Local and Steam Cloud profiles; these are different tools with different limits.
Can Game Switcher download an older game version?
No. Preserve and test your working setup before Steam updates it. The Switcher copies the version you already have.
Does removing a saved configuration delete it?
Removing a Switcher entry from the list does not delete the completed Last Best folder.
Game Switcher says a completed copy has an invalid record. What should I do?
Update to V2.1.6 and reload the saved configuration. It includes the V2.1.2 fix for valid large copy records being rejected and can read existing records without copying the game again. If the error remains, keep the copy and the exact message, then ask GMC Discord support before deleting or rebuilding anything.

What is the safest way to make my first change?
Close ETS2 or ATS, choose the profile, activate and position the mod, review the order, then choose Apply Load Order. Wait for Saved before starting the game.
Why can’t I edit while the game is running?
Mod Manager locks changes for that game to avoid competing with ETS2 or ATS while it may be reading or writing the same profile. Close the game and let the manager refresh.
Does opening the Load Order Guide change anything?
No. GUIDE is general, read-only guidance. It never sorts, validates or changes a profile. Follow mod-author instructions and the latest official GMC map-combination order when they differ.
What does the Override Checker actually do?
It compares shared def files in enabled local mods and shows which listed mod currently wins. It does not move mods, choose a preferred order or edit a package.
Does an override mean my load order is wrong?
No. Patches and compatibility mods are often designed to replace another mod’s files. Check the result against the mod authors’ instructions.
Why are Steam Workshop mods not in the Override Checker?
The checker covers enabled local mods only. Workshop and temporarily disabled items are outside this scan.
What should I send with an Override Checker problem?
Use Copy Report or Save Report. The report includes useful mod and comparison details but leaves out physical local folder paths.
Does Compare & Transfer Mods copy my mod files?
No. It stages load-order references between profiles. Installed packages are not copied, moved, deleted or modified.
Why does a mod still say MISSING FILE or AMBIGUOUS?
Mod Manager could not prove one safe installed match. It keeps the problem visible instead of guessing which file you meant.
Where are automatic profile backups kept?
New safety backups are kept in Mod Manager’s managed backup library, separated by game, profile and storage type.
What details should I include when asking for help?
Include Version 2.1.6, the tool you were using, ETS2 or ATS, Local or Steam Cloud, what you clicked and the exact message. Do not post full profiles, private folder paths or proxy passwords publicly.
